How to Create a Custom SQL Report in the Orion Web Console

Creating web-based reports in the Orion web console can have its limitations. This is why advanced SQL and SWQL exists. Enabling this reporting type extends the possibilities of Orion reporting. This demonstrates the best way to construct and publish your very own custom SQL report.

Orion Platform

Log into your Orion web console as an administrator with Report Management Rights.

1. Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Manage Reports > Create new report
2. Choose Custom Table > select and continue
3. Choose the third option in the drop-down for the Selection method: Advanced Database Query (SQL, SWQL)
4. Choose the correct radio button depending on if you plan to use SQL or SWQL.
5. Enter your query. You may preview your results but it is recommended to develop your SQL script using an appropriate platform such as Database Manager, SWQL Studio, or SQL Server Management Studio.
6. Select the columns in the report

Submit the report the rest of the way through the wizard to save your progress.
