How To Clear the Patch Manager Third Party Catalog

At times you may find Patch Manager no longer syncs with the third-party update site. After you have checked the communication it may be necessary to clear the catalog.

Overview

You have tried to run Sync Now, and no new updates are downloaded to Patch Manager. 
After you have verified that the PM server can access the download website. https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Patch_Manager/Knowledgebase_Articles/Import_Catalogs_for_Patch_Manager_on_secure_network
Then, it may be time to clear the catalog and re-download it. This will not affect any custom packages that have been built.

Patch Manager

Cause

The Patch Manager Third Party update catalog has become corrupted and no longer downloads updates. 
The Sync is broken and the subscription will need to be cleared. 

Resolution

1. log in to Patch Manager and expand the Patch Manager System Configuration. 
2 Expand Patch Manager Servers and click on the Application server. 
3. highlight the Primary Patch server name and in the middle panel click on "Application server settings". 

4. In the Setting Name field double click Catalogs Settings and delete

6. On the left panel, click on Software Publishing 
7. On the right action panel, click on Patch Manager Update Configuration Wizard. Run the wizard and bring in the Catalog.

Be sure to go through all the tabs in the Third Party Updates Options that will appear after the first Synchronization is complete
