Overview

High Availability is set up, and both ASA firewalls are already added as nodes. However, the failover status is not displayed correctly. It is just showing the pair as "add node as monitored".

Resolution

Solution 1

  1. Try to run the command "show failover" on both ASA nodes, then take note of all the interfaces.
  2. On the Orion Web Console, choose Node Details > List Resources.
  3. Make sure those interfaces are enabled.
  4. Then do rediscovery on both and Poll Now.
  5. Wait for a while, refresh the page, and verify that the link shows properly.

Solution 2

If all the interfaces are selected for monitoring or just the right ones in the Orion Web Console and the status is still the same, verify why the stand by unit is showing (0.0.0.0) IP (© 2019 Cisco Systems Inc., available at https://community.cisco.com, obtained on May 20, 2019) from the Cisco CLI, or contact Cisco Support.
