  1. Log in to the Patch Manager Administrator Console as an administrator.
  2. In the navigation pane, expand Update Services > Your_WSUS_Server > Updates and select All Updates.
  3. Delete all updates that are failing with the 404 error message.
  4. In the navigation pane, select your WSUS server.
  5. In the Actions pane, click Synchronize Server.
  6. Complete the Task Options wizard to synchronize the server.
  7. Open the WSUS Console.
  8. Re-synchronize the WSUS server with Microsoft Updates to bring the updates deleted in Step 2 back into WSUS.
  9. When the synchronization is completed, switch back to the Patch Manager Administrator Console.
  10. In the navigation pane, select your WSUS server name.
  11. In the Actions pane, click Synchronize Server.

  13. Locate your new updates.
  14. Re-approve the updates to force the download to re-synchronize again with Synchronize Server in Patch Manager.
  15. After the package is downloaded and shows the Content Downloaded icon with the green checkmark, you can use Update Management to test the update.
The error should now be resolved.
