Overview
Unable to Enable the HA Pool and checking the HighAvailability.Service.log will show:ERROR SolarWinds.Orion.HighAvailability.Utilities.LicenseInfoProvider - Can't check License.SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Common.ModuleLicenseException: License is expired or not available
Product section
Cause
- Communcation failure to Active Main Poller due to mis-match windows updates
- HA not assigned correctly
Resolution
- Check HA service logs Core Business Layer logs, and make sure Standby Server can communicate over SWIS to Active Member.
- In one case, the issue was caused by pending/not-matching windows updates on Pool members breaking TLS communication.
- To fix this, Disable HA > Install any pending updates on both pool members
Solution for Cause 2:
If communication is fine,
1. Go to Settings > All Settings > License Manager
2. Look for the High Availability License
3. Verify License for the pool, Deactivate License
4. Activate License
Check if HA will now Enable
