Force HA failover without accessing the Orion Web Console

Use Orion SDK to manually force failover for High Availability.

Overview

When you have issues accessing the HA Summary Page in the Orion Web Console and need to force a failover, you can use Orion SDK and a SWIS verb to do so.

Resolution

  1. Download Orion SDK from https://github.com/solarwinds/OrionSDK/releases .
    • Download the .msi file

  2. Install SWQL Studio. For more details, see the THWACK post Intro to SWQL Studio.
  3. In SWQL Studio, navigate to the Orion.HA.Pools entity > Switchover.
  4. Right-click Switchover and select Invoke.
  5. Specify the pool ID, and click Invoke.
