Finding the Serv-U Collection where the user is created

In Serv-U MFT Server, the Serv-U Management Console does not provide a direct way to identify which collection contains a local domain user. The user’s collection can instead be identified from the Serv-U Users folder configuration. 

The Serv-U Management Console does not expose the collection membership lookup for local domain users. The membership information is reflected in the filesystem structure under the Serv-U Users directory.

1. Open File Explorer on the Serv-U server.

2. Browse to:

    C:\ProgramData\RhinoSoft\Serv-U\Users

3. Open the folder that matches the domain configured in Serv-U.

4. Search for the user’s archive configuration file.

5. Review the folder where the file is located:

   • If the file is directly under the domain folder, the user is not assigned to a collection.

   • If the file is under a subfolder, the subfolder name identifies the user’s collection.

6. For environments with many collections, use File Explorer search within the Users folder to locate the user account and then note the parent folder path.

In this example, the user belongs to the collection represented by <Collection Name>.

Additional information

If no collection is configured for the user, the user’s archive configuration file—such as user.archive—is stored directly in the domain folder. If a collection is configured, the file is stored in a subfolder named after that collection.
