Resolution

You can find out when a node was added to the Orion Platform only if the information is still within NPM. The records are removed from the database after the retention period is over. By default, the retention period for events is 30 days.

The procedures show nodes as newly added when you move a node from one polling engine to another one.

Option 1: Review Events

You can find out when a node has been added for a recent node, by going to the events page on your NPM Web Console.

  1. Specify the node either via Network Object, or Type of Device. The Event Type that you want to be looking for would be the: Node Added
  2. Choose your Time Period.
  3. Check the box for show cleared events.
  4. Click submit/ or refresh.

A list should then appear if that node was added within the timeframe you have specified.

Option 2: Run the Last XX Audit Reports

  1. Click Reports >All Reports, and search for audit events.
  2. Click the Last xx Audit Events.

You can also use the Last XX Audit Events

Option 3: Create a custom report listing all Node Added events

  1. Go to Setting > Manage Report > Add new report.
  2. Add custom Table > Choose I want to report on [EVENT].
  3. In Condition add in "Event type is equal to Node Added" > Add to layout
  1. Add column and add the following columns:
    • Event time
    • Event Type
    • Choose Node > Caption.
  2. Choose time-based setting to Yes and click Submit.
