Overview


The files uploaded in Serv-U through WinSCP has a file name extension of .filepart in addition to the original extension.
For .txt files, instead of the file name being 'test.txt', it shows as 'test.txt.filepart'.
For Excel files, instead of the file name being 'test.xls', it shows as 'test.xls.filepart'.

Cause

This behavior is specific to WinSCP. The 'Enable transfer resume/transfer to temporary filename for' option is enabled.

Resolution

 
  1. Launch WinSCP
  2. Click Options > Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences dialog box, click to expand the Transfer node, then click Endurance.
  4. Under Enable transfer resume/transfer to temporary filename for, click Disable.
  5. Click OK to save the changes.
