Error when upgrading Patch Manager

This article addresses an error message that displays in the Patch Manager Update Installation Wizard when you upgrade the application. Error: An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement... Update installation failed. The update was not successfully installed.

Overview

When you upgrade Patch Manager, the following error displays in the Patch Manager Update Installation Wizard:

Running version specific database script failed. Details: An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement...

Update installation failed.

The update was not successfully installed.

The full error message is listed below.

[ERROR] ExecuteSqlScript() failed. Message: An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. Details: Could not allocate a new page for database 'EminentWare' because of insufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY'. Create the necessary space by dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup. Could not create constraint. See previous errors. The statement has been terminated.

To view the full error, check the DBHelper logs located in Program Data. The default location is C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\PM\Log

Cause

The database file is out of space.

Resolution

Verify that the Emminentware Data Grid Server service account has the correct permissions to the database (see Patch Manager SQL account permissions ).
Check the database space and run a cleanup. For details, see Error:Could not allocate space for object 'sys.syscolpars'.'clst' in database (© 2016 Microsoft, available at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/, obtained on June 2, 2016.).
Run the Configuration Wizard.
