Error when trying to export page to PDF in Orion

An error message occurs when trying to export the vital statistics of a device into a PDF file in NPM. The PDF conversion template file is corrupted. Delete and rebuild a PDF conversion template file to resolve.

Overview

The following error message occurs when trying to export the vital statistics of a device into a PDF file in NPM:

There was an error trying to export the page to PDF, please try again later.

The following error message is found in the log report:

ERROR ASP.orion_exporttopdf_aspx - Unable to convert html into PDF file.System.Exception: License '4189502131' is not valid for this build.

Cause

The PDF conversion template file is corrupted.

Resolution

Delete the PDF conversion template file ExportToPDF.aspx.cs, and then run the Configuration Wizard to re-build the file.

1. Create a backup of the following file:
c:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\ExportToPDF.aspx.cs
2. Move the backup file to a different location out of the Inetpub folder.
3. Delete the original file from the Inetpub folder.
4. Run the Configuration Wizard - Running Configuration Wizard and verify the PDF conversion.
