Overview

When you configure management tasks on remote systems, Patch Manager returns the following error:

Invalid namespace

This error occurs when you run a task that requires Patch Manager to install the SolarWinds WMI Providers.

Cause

Out-of-date root certificates stored in the client system. In this case, the client system is most often unpatched or misconfigured.

Resolution

  1. Apply Microsoft KB931125  from the Updates category in WSUS. (© 2018 Microsoft Corporation, available at https://docs.microsoft.com, obtained on June 18, 2018)
    This article includes a list of supported operating systems and links to other articles describing how to install root certificates on disconnected systems using Group Policy.
  2. Update the root certificates store on the affected system.
