Overview

This article describes the issue when you receive the following prompt:

Error opening file for writing: 
c:\users\xxxx\AppDataLocal\Temp\SWOrionSetup\Microsoft.Deployment.WindowInstaller.dll
Click Abort to stop the Installation 
Retry to try again, or 
Ignore to skip this file.

This error was also observed with the file microsoft.deployment.compression.cab.dll

Cause

Open MSI installer with errors that need interaction.

Resolution

Go in to Task Manager and end all installation related processes.
Rerun the installer package.

If this does not work, try rebooting and rerunning the installer.
