Overview

Product section
Cause
When you configure the Trigger Conditions for the alert, the alert has a blank value. This is usually caused by importing an alert from another system or incorrect/blank trigger conditions for the alerts. It can also be caused by references to deleted custom properties.
In the CoreBusinessLayer.log (C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion), you can find errors such as below.
ERROR SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Alerting.Plugins.Conditions.Dynamic.ExprTreeTransientRemover - (null) Expression Orion.NPM.Interfaces|PercentUtil|CCMMonitoring.NPMinterfaces of type Field cannot be connected with existing Field
ERROR SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Common.MessageUtilities - (null) Exception caught in method ProvideFault System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.Data.InvalidExpressionException: Expression can not be converted to Field
Resolution
- Review all enabled alert configurations and check if there are any blank trigger conditions from recently imported alerts.
- This can also be caused by recently deleted custom properties being referenced in alerts.
- Edit the alert with the correct values.
- Delete the alert if it's no longer needed.
