Error: Object reference not set to instance of an object on Orion Website

When Editing a Page, View or Resource/choosing resources to be monitored on nodes added throws the error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

Overview

The following error occurs when editing a page, view or web resource. It can also display when clicking on a node or application object:

This can occur in NPM and SAM "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Cause

The error is caused by a corrupted or incorrectly formatted resource folder in the C:\Inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion directory.

Resolution

Resolution One

Reset IIS
- Open the CMD prompt as an Administrator
- Enter
  
  iisreset
If the error persists, proceed to Resolution Two
