Email alerts from UPS devices indicate unexpected SNMP traffic from your primary SolarWinds Platform server. The following error is displayed:

Informational - System: Detected an unauthorized user attempting to access the SNMP interface from (ip address of our primary SolarWinds Platform server.)

Cause

IPAM may be scanning subnets on your networks, and possibly old SNMP strings are used.
SNMPv1 or v2 is enabled in the device while the device is polled via SNMPv3

Resolution

To resolve this, go to Settings > All Settings > IPAM Settings > SNMP Credentials and look for old or not working SNMP strings.
Also, check any scheduled network discoveries that may have old SNMP strings in it.
If the node is polled via SNMPv3, disable the SNMPv1 and v2 on the device if not in use.
