This article describes how to resolve the following error in Patch Manager: A previous version of Orion was detected on your server.

Overview

When you run the Patch Manager installer on an Orion server, the following error message displays:

A previous version of Orion was detected on your server. The installation type of the previous version does not match the installation type of this installer.

To continue your installation, you must first uninstall the older Orion version.

Previous Installation Type: WebOnly

Current Installation Type: Full

Cause

The full Patch Manager installer cannot be used to install the Web Only version on an Orion server.

Resolution

Run the Web Only installer to install Patch Manager components on an Orion server.
If you need to install the Patch Manager Orion components on your additional web servers, contact support.
