Overview

Error: 8250 typically occurs when a client cannot connect to an Active Directory (AD) server due to network, Authentication, DNS, TLS, or authentication issues etc.

Product section

Dameware Remote Support & Mini Remote Control

Cause

  • TLS related
    • By default Microsoft Active Directory gets both LDAP and LDAPS (LDAP over the TLS) after deployment so it possible that AD TLS certificate CA is not trusted ( it needs to make sure AD CA is installed on DRS running host).
  • Network Related (port 636)
  • Authentication Issue

Resolution

  • Check Firewall settings (port 636)
  • Check if LDAPS certificate chain trusted on the host machine
  • Re-input the account use to connect to AD:
    1. Right Click on the AD and select "Edit Connection Properties"
    2. Reinput the credential and Click Ok
  • Disable Secure TLS Connection:
    1. Right Click on the AD and select "Edit Connection Properties"
    2. Uncheck the "Use TLS" check box then click Ok.
