Overview

Polling for application dependencies in SAM can be enabled/disabled (on/off) at the global level and at the node level. In the SAM 6.6, the feature was automatically enabled for all nodes when the system was upgraded.  If the node contained an agent, the node would automatically display on the map.

NOTE: Starting in SAM 6.6.1, application dependency polling is disabled when upgrading from earlier SAM versions.

This article addresses how to turn Application Dependency polling off or on for just specific nodes, or on a global level. See Monitor application dependencies in SAM to learn more about this feature.

  3. Application dependency polling can also be enabled and disabled at the Node level.  The global Application Dependency setting must be On to see the application dependency option for an individual node.
    1. Edit the Node or on Manage Nodes page, select one or more nodes and press Edit Properties
    2. Scroll down the page and you will see the Application Connection Settings check box. If the box is checked, Application Dependency Polling is enabled. If the box is unchecked, Application Dependency Polling is disabled.
