Enable Asset Inventory in bulk

This article describes how to use Network Discovery to enable Asset Inventory in bulk. Asset Inventory is not being monitored on my nodes. How to enable Asset Inventory across a large number or multiple nodes at once. Asset Inventory not working. Asset Inventory not enabled. Asset Inventory disabled.

Overview

This article describes how to enable Asset Inventory in bulk by using Network Discovery. This is especially useful for products such as SCM that leverage the Asset Inventory for monitoring against server changes.

Resolution

Log in to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console using an account with administrative privileges.
Go to Settings > Network Discovery.
Select the existing network discovery profile and click Import All Results:
On the Network Sonar Results Wizard, keep all the existing settings and go to the Import Preview tab:
Select the target node and click Import.
As a result, the Asset Inventory will be added and the existing components like interface, volume etc. will be skipped as it is already added to monitor:
Click Finish to complete the Network Sonar Results Wizard.
