Before starting E-mail delivery troubleshooting, ensure the Filters are indeed matching the messages. To do this, add a Display Action that is not used by any other Rule which contains the E-Mail Action. Switch to this Display and see if any messages appear. This confirms if the Filters are working correctly or not.
If the messages are appearing, complete the following steps to troubleshoot:
- Go File > Setup > E-mail, and ensure that the following fields have been populated:
- Hostname or IP address of SMTP Mail Server
- SMTP Port
- Valid ‘from’ e-mail address on SMTP server
- Check the following boxes and click Apply:
- Keep a log file of e-mail activity
- Enable verbose logging
- Return to E-mail Message Action and click Test.
- Return to the E-mail section and click View Log. This opens
sendmaillog.txt. This file contains a log of the transactions between Kiwi Syslog Server and the Mail server, and any errors that may have occurred.
Note: Clearing the MailQ can also help in these situations. Click File > Purge > Purge Mail Queue, restart the Kiwi Syslog Server service, and purge it again.
