Newly added nodes to Network Atlas Maps show as Unknown after upgrade to SolarWinds Platform 2024.1

After upgrading to 2024.1, when you attempt to add a new node to an existing Network Atlas map it will show up as Unknown(Grey) on the web console.

After upgrading to 2024.1, when you attempt to add a new node to an existing Network Atlas map, it will appear as Unknown(Grey) on the web console.

Cause

This issue occurs due to the .mapcache files are not updating when saving the map and refresh the web page.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, please upgrade to SolarWinds Platform 2024.2 and above. If upgrade is not possible, please perform the steps below to workaround the issue:

Navigate to this location on your Primary polling engine or Additional Web Servers: C:\Users\SolarWinds Orion Application Pool\AppData\Local\Temp\SolarWinds\NetworkAtlas\Orion\SolarWinds\NetworkAtlas\Maps\Orion\localhost
Sort by "Type" and select all the .mapcache files.
Delete these files.
Refresh the website should rebuild these files
