Set Account Limitations in EOC 2.0

Overview

This article details how to leverage Account Limitations in EOC. In EOC 2.0 and later versions, there are limitations on accounts and it does not work by default.

Cause

As of EOC 2.0, EOC does not store node/group/entity data in its database.
Instead it uses Federated SWIS queries to the monitored Orion sites to retrieve data.
The default account limitations Orion uses does not have anything for its non-federated local SWIS queries to work with.

Resolution

Create an account on the Local Orion Server and apply the limitation there.
Create or edit an account for the user in EOC.
For the EOC user created in step 2 specify custom users for the site using the user in step 1.
