Download the Deprecated WPM Recorder on External Workstations and Servers

Overview

Sometimes the use of the WPM Recorder (deprecated) is useful from remote machines such as local workstations or designated player locations. This describes the process of installing the Recorder on those machines instead of the main Orion server.

RDP to the main Orion server
Navigate to %ProgramData%\SolarWinds\Installers
Locate the deprecated recorder msi. In for format: WPM-XXXX.XXX.XXXX-TransactionRecorderDeprecated.Msi or Observability-XXXXXXX-TransactionRecorderDeprecated.msi (and any applicable WPM-XXXX.XXX.XXXX-TransactionRecorderDeprecated-HotFix.Msp)
Copy and transfer to the machine you need to install on.
Run the MSI.
