Domain migration

This article provides information about the current cross-forest domain migration of all systems.

Overview

When doing a domain migration for the current Orion Platform and all related entities,

Orion poller is on Domain A and needs to be moved to Domain B.
Orion poller is also NTA DB and storage.
Orion DB is on a dedicated SQL server that will also be moving from Domain A to Domain B. SQL using Orion generated account to connect.
There is a trust set up between Domain A and Domain B.

Resolution

Change the domain on the poller ensuring it can still connect to the SQL server.
Make sure the system gets the same IP on Domain B, please ensure that you check the following on Domain B.

Check for DNS entries and/or DHCP reservation for the IP it will be using to make sure no other system has that IP already assigned.
If the IP address also changes, run the Configuration Wizard and select all three options.
