Overview

Orion Platform uses analytical data collection to improve the user experience of the product. One of these data collectors is a free Google Tag Manager (GTM) that allows management and deployment of marketing tags on the Orion website. This article provides details on how to disable this collection which may in isolated systems have an  impact on performance or be non-desirable due to an organization's policies.

Cause

Functionality (Google Tag Manager data collection) is enabled by default.

Resolution

To disable data collection from Google Tag Manager (GTM) follow the steps below:
  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console using an account with administrative privileges.
  2. To access Advanced Configuration Settings, copy /Admin/AdvancedConfiguration/Global.aspx.
  3. Paste it into your browser address bar, after /Orion, as shown here: <your production server>/Orion/Admin/AdvancedConfiguration/Global.aspx
  4. Press Enter.
  5. Search for gtm.
  6. Clear the GtmEnabled check box.
  7. Click on the button Save.
