Disable Session Timeout feature in the SolarWinds Platform Web Console

The Disable Session Timeout feature should be set to Yes to allow domain users to remain logged in to their sessions, regardless of inactivity.

Overview

This article provides information on how to enable the Disable Session Timeout feature in the SolarWinds Platform Web Console. The Disable Session Timeout feature can be enabled to allow users to remain logged in to their current sessions and not be automatically be logged out of their sessions due to a period of inactivity.

Resolution

Please follow these steps to disable session timeout:

  1. Log in to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console with an administrative account.
  2. Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Manage Accounts
  3. Mark the account or group accounts you wish to disable the session timeout for and click Edit
  4. Locate the following setting: 
    Disable Session Timeout
  5. Change the setting value to Yes

Users will maintain access to the system until they manually log out from their account on the web console. 
In case of a session timeout still occurring for the selected user please clear the web browser cache.

Note: 
If users leave the browsers open or in the background on the SolarWinds Platform website it can potentially cause a bit of a performance issue
