Overview

Starting with IPAM 2026.1.1, the Description field is once again displayed as a visible element on the left-side navigation panel of the Manage Subnets & IP Addresses page, alongside the hover-to-view tooltip introduced in the redesigned UI. This restores functionality that was removed when the modern UI framework was rolled out in IPAM 2025.2.

Resolution

This issue is resolved starting with IPAM 2026.1.1.

The Description field is now shown directly in the left-side panel next to the Subnet, Supernet, or Group name, restoring the pre-2025.2 visibility.
Hovering the mouse over a Subnet/Supernet/Group name continues to work as an additional way to view the description.

Recommended action: Upgrade to SolarWinds Platform / IPAM 2026.1.1 or later to restore this functionality. No manual configuration or workaround is required after upgrading.
