Overview

This article describes how to delete or edit a credential on the Orion server using Database Manager.

Cause

If Credentials are not being deleted from the Orion Web Console for unknown causes.

Resolution

NOTE:
Make sure to backup the Orion database first when doing any database changes.

  1. Connect to your SolarWinds Orion server remotely. Start Database Manager.

    You can also start Database Manager in the Advanced Features folder by clicking Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Database Manager.

  2. Click Add Orion Server.

  3. Expand SOLARWINDS_ORION. (The Orion database Name)

  4. Select and expand SolarWindsOrion.

  5. Open the Credential table [dbo].[Credential] from the list and click Execute query.

  6. Check for the credentialID value of the target credential to be edited or deleted.

  7. Open the CredentialProperty table [dbo].[CredentialProperty] from the list and click Execute query.

  8. Click Enable table editing.

  9. Delete all items with the corresponding credentialID value.

  10. Return to the Credential table and click Enable table editing.

  11. Select and right-click the row of the desired credential that needs to be deleted. 

  12. Confirm to delete the selected row(s).

NOTE: If you cannot delete the row/s, you may need to shutdown Orion services: Start, Stop, or Restart Orion Services with the Orion Service Manager
