How to delete interfaces from Orion Web Console

This article describes how to delete interfaces from nodes in the Orion Web Console.

Cause

Some customers believe that deleting interfaces from the device via CLI would also delete them from the Orion Web Console.

Resolution

Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Orion Web Console > Settings > Manage Nodes.
In the Show menu, select Interfaces.
Note: If the Manage Entities view opens instead of the Manage Nodes view, click Commands > Switch Back to Legacy page. This opens the Manage Nodes page.
In the Group by field, select Vendor to see the list of interfaces for the devices.
Select the interfaces that need to be removed.
Click Delete.
If all the interfaces on the page need to be removed, select all interfaces and click Delete.

In more recent versions of NPM, you may remove stale interfaces automatically.

Settings > All Settings > Polling Settings
Check the checkbox for Delete Stale Interfaces
Submit the page to take affect
