Deactivate or transfer the Serv-U license key

Overview

Unlike other SolarWInds products, Serv-U does not use License Manager. 
To use the Serv-U license key on another machine, you should deactivate the existing server first, then register the key to another Serv-U instance.

Serv-U MFT
  • Log in to the Serv-U MFT server as an administrator
  • Locate the Serv-UID.txt file in C:\ProgramData\RhinoSoft\Serv-U (Folder is Hidden in Windows by default)
  • Rename or move the file to another location
  • Restart the Serv-U MFT service
Serv-U Gateway
  • Log in to the Serv-U Gateway server as an administrator
  • Locate the Serv-U-Gateway-ID.txt file in C:\ProgramData\RhinoSoft\Serv-U Gateway (Folder is Hidden in Windows by default)
  • Rename or move the file to another location
  • Restart the Serv-U MFT service
