Overview

In some situations, the technician may encounter a strange keyboard behavior during the remote session with the remote computer. The keyboard sometimes does not work, cannot type some letters, some keys are not correctly typed into the remote computer, keyboard combinations such as Shift, Alt, CTRL. However, the mouse has no issues.

This issue very visible when an application called "ActivTrak" was installed on the remote computer. The ActivTrak will interfere with the DRE viewer capture of local keyboard inputs. Please consider disabling ActivTrak if possible.

Occasionally, certain software (particularly employee monitoring software and similar software that will read keyboard inputs) will interfere with the DRE keyboard hook. Adding the modification to the INI file helps bypass that.
