Create an iControl account for F5 monitoring in NPM
Details and requirements of iControl account used to monitor F5 BIG-IP devices.

Overview
NPM uses iControl to poll health monitors for Network Insight for F5 BIG-IP load balancers. You can use the default F5 Administrator account for this monitoring. If that is not an option, create a new iControl account.
The iControl account you are using in NPM must be a local account directly on the F5 device. You cannot use Active Directory or TACACS accounts.

Resolution
- Log in to your F5 device and navigate to System > Users > User list > New user.
- In the Role drop-down, select Administrator.
- Finish creating the user.
