Create an alert when response time exceeds warning or critical thresholds in Orion

This article describes how to create an alert that will trigger when the response time has exceeded its warning or critical thresholds.

Overview

When monitoring nodes it may be helpful to configure alerts for when the response time has exceeded specific values. This article discusses adjusting those thresholds then configuring alerts based on those thresholds.

Resolution

  1. If required, set custom thresholds for the node:
    1. Go to Settings > Manage Nodes.
    2. Select the node, and then click Edit Properties.
    3. Scroll down to Alerting Thresholds, and then click Override Orion General Thresholds. 
    4. Set the desired thresholds, and then click Submit.

  2. Once the threshold is set, create the alert  using the following trigger conditions:
