How to create an alert when a Windows services is down for more than five minutes

When windows service stopped working it may take some period to come back up. Alert will send a notification email to inform the team on service down to fast remediation.

1. Log in to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console.
2. Click Alerts & Activity > Alerts > Manage Alerts > Add New Alert.
3. Enter the name of the alert.
4. Set the following under Trigger Condition:
   
   I want to alert on: Component
   • The scope of alert: All objects in my environment
   • All child conditions must be satisfied (AND)
   • Component > Component ID (Component Alert) > is equal to > [YourComponenentID]
   • Component > Component Availability > is equal to > Down
   • Condition must exist for more than 5 minutes

Note: The Component ID is found in the Application Details page, which can be found either from the Node Details page by clicking on an Application in the Applications widget, or from the page at Settings > All Settings > SAM Settings > Manage Application Monitors > Select the Application in question. Click the component, and last digits in the address bar of your Internet browser is the Component ID. Use the Component Name Alerting property if the Component ID is not available.

5. Complete the rest of the Alert Wizard as required and save the alert.
