Create an alert for specific vendor when a node goes down
Customer would like to create an alert only for the vendor Windows. Additionally, the customer would like also to filter the object to trigger the alert based on the Node Name format. (i.e. any Node Name that does not contain the work "tst" or "dev" should not trigger the alert).

Resolution
- Login to Orion Web Console using an admin account.
- Go to Alerts and Activities > Alerts > Manage Alerts > Add New Alerts.
- In the Trigger Condition tab, go to I want to Alert on : NODE.
- In the Scope of Alert, go to Only following set of objects:
- All child conditions must be satisfied (AND)
- Node : Vendor : is equal to : Windows
- Node : Node Name: does not contain : tst
- Node : Node Name: does not contain : dev
- In the Actual Trigger Condition:
- Node : Status : is equal to : Down
- Node : Status : is equal to : Down
- In the Reset Condition tab, create a special reset condition for this alert.
- Add Condition : Copy Trigger condition from Trigger.
- Change the Actual Trigger Condition to:
- Node : Status : is equal to : UP
- Node : Status : is equal to : UP
- In the Time of Day tab, alert is always enabled, no schedule needed.
- In the Trigger Action tab, Add Action > Send an Email/Page.
- In Configure Action: Fill out the following fields:
- Name of Action
- Recipients
- Message
- SMTP Server
- Time of Day
- Execution Settings
- Click Next.
- In the Reset Action tab, Add Action > Send an Email/Page.
- In Configure Action : Fill out the following fields:
- Name of Action
- Recipients
- Message
- SMTP Server
- Time of Day
- Add Action > ClickNext.
- In the Summary tab, review the alert configuration before saving.
- Click Submit to save changes.
