Create a view when the BGP Neighbor status is Down

This article provides instructions for creating a resource or view when the BGP Neighbor status is Down.

Overview

This article describes how to create a resource or view when the BGP Neighbor status is Down. The resource will be displayed in the Top 10 Page view in the Orion Web Console.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console using an administrator account.
  2. Go to the Top 10 page, and then click Customize Page:

  3. Click + to add a resource, and then search for the Custom Table resource.
  4. Select Custom Table, and then click Add Selected Resources.
  5. Click Done to save the view.
  6. Click Edit on the Custom Table resource, and then click  Select Data Source.
  7. Apply the following:
    • Selection Method: Dynamic Query Builder
    • Select Advanced Selector
    • I want to report on: Router
    • Where: All child conditions must be satisfied (AND)
    • Protocol Orion Status: is equal to: Down


  1. Click Update Data source to continue.
  2. Add the following columns:
    • Caption
    • Protocol Name
    • Neighbor IP
    • Protocol Orion Status
    • Protocol Status Description 


  1. Click Add Column, and then click  Preview Resource.


  1. Click Submit to save the changes.

The results will show all the routing neighbors that are down for all the nodes that have routing neighbors monitored in Orion.
