Overview

This article describes how to create a report that will return the node name and the serial number from the assigned universal device poller for devices that do not support the Service tag data in the Hardware details polling. Please note that you will need to reach out to the device manufacturer to get the proper OID for the serial number and then Create a Universal Device Poller (UnDP) .

Note: The serial number details can be found by creating a report based on Poller Name and not necessarily Engine ID.

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Alerting, Reporting and Mapping > Report Writer > File > New Report > Current Status of Nodes, Interfaces etc > OK.
  2. Click Select fields > Add a new field > Custom Pollers (Current Status) > Custom Node Pollers > Poller Name.
  3. Click Add a new field > Custom Pollers (Current Status) > Custom Node Pollers > Total.
  4. Click Add a new field > Network Nodes > Node Details > Node Name.

  5. Add the desired Sort and Function values. For example, Ascending for Sort and Count for Function.

  6. Click Execute SQL Query.
  7. Click Save.
