This article provides steps to create a report showing connections per second on interfaces (Cisco ASA) with 1 or 5 minutes intervals.

Resolution

1. Create a UnDP 

 

1.1 Remotely connect to the SolarWinds server.
1.2 Go to Universal Device Poller in the SolarWinds Platform folder of the start menu and create a New Universal Device Poller with this OID's below:

 

Every 1 minute - cufwConnGlobalConnSetupRate1.0 - 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.491.1.1.1.10

Connections per second over the last 60 seconds

 

Every 5 minutes - cufwConnGlobalConnSetupRate5.0 - 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.491.1.1.1.11

Connections per second over the last 300 seconds

 

1.3. Fill 1 in Polling Interval minutes and click Next.

 

 

1.4. Select your nodes (Cisco ASA) that you want to assign.

1.5. Select "Chart" in "Node Details for ASA - Summary" and click Finish.

 

 

 

2. Check the information in Summary 

 

2.1. Go to your node page and check if you can see the “cufwConnGlobalConnSetupRate1 - Universal Device Poller Summary Chart” or “cufwConnGlobalConnSetupRate5 - Universal Device Poller Summary Chart”.

 

2.2. Wait about half an hour for the poll process to make some polls and generate information for the graphics.

 

 

 

 

3. Create a Report 

 

3.1. Create a new report with Custom Table.

3.2. Select "Advanced Selector", in "I want to report on", select Custom Node Poller.

3.3 Select your node as below and in OR, select "Unique Name" and the UnDP you created earlier. (cufwConnGlobalConnSetupRate1.0 and cufwConnGlobalConnSetupRate5.0)

 

 

 

3.4. In the edit chart field, select as below. Add the data series, as an example we put Max Rate.
 

 

 

 

3.5. Click Preview Resource and you can check your chart.
