Create a hardware health alert for power supply issues in Orion

Overview

While alerting on Hardware Health issues is very simple in Orion, some customers may want to create an alert on specific hardware such as power supply issues. This example shows how to create a Hardware Health alert for power supply issues.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Alerts & Activity > Alerts > Manage Alerts and select Add New Alert.
  2. Add a name for the alert and select next to move to Trigger Condition.
  3. Select Hardware Sensor (Node) from the dropdown for "I want to alert on".
  4. Add conditions that you want the alert to trigger for; below is an example of an alert for a Power Supply sensor:

In production, there may be other Original Status values that you wish to be included in the alert.  This alert will trigger on any value specified under the And/Or block created as 'At least one child condition must be satisfied (OR).'
The status of hardware sensors on nodes can be found on the page at Settings > All Settings > Manage Hardware Sensors.
