Create a Netpath Service alert in Orion Platform

Overview

While utilizing the NetPath feature of the Orion Platform you may also require to be notified for example of its behaviour, for example when the network path becomes unavailable (i.e. status down). In this article, you will find details on how to create such an alert.

Resolution

To create NetPath alert follow the steps below:
  1. Open the Orion Web Console and log in.
  2. Go to Manage Alerts and look for an alert called "Path to Google" (pre-defined alert).
  3. Make a copy of that alert to create a new alert giving it your own name.
  4. In the Trigger Condition, enter the following information making sure you are using correct (your own name) of the NetPath service:
  5. Complete the rest of the alert settings.
Prerequisite:
  • The NetPath service to Google or any other destinations must be created first in order for the alert to work. Please refer to the article Create a NetPath service in NPM for more details on how to create a NetPath service.
