License Server Error. The License Store is Corrupted.
Product section
Cause
The license store is in an invalid state that cannot be accessed and cannot provide license leases. Possible reasons for this include:
- Unauthorized data manipulation within the database.
- Replacing the Main polling engine server with new hardware.
- Unexpected data inconsistencies within the license store.
- High Availability switchover/failover to the standby main polling engine, which wasn't previously correctly registered to the license store, as indicated by a WARN message in the Configuration Wizard.
Resolution
Before you begin:
-
The reset must be done from the Active Primary poller machine.
- If your main polling engine is a member of a High Availability pool, disable the main polling engine pool.
- Shut down the Orion Module Engine Service.
- If possible, deactivate your licenses with the License Manager.
- Migration.exe can be found in the following directory:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion (for older installations)
- C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion
To reset the license store:
The default location is at C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion:
- Open a Command prompt in this folder, execute the command migration.exe /ExpireAll, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Start the Orion Module Engine on the main polling engine and wait a few minutes to confirm that the License Manager loads and displays the Expired evaluation licenses of installed products.
- If you use the High Availability to protect the main polling engine, log into the standby server.
- Run the command line and navigate to the licensing folder.
- Execute the
migration.exe /migratecommand to register the machine as a potential license store substitution.
- Activate all Commercial licenses you deactivated previously. If you weren't able to deactivate them, please contact SolarWinds Customer Service to recover the licenses for reuse.
