Resolution

  1. Launch the SEM reports application.
  2. On the Settings tab, click the Configure button (button with a gear icon).
  3. Choose Managers - Credentials and Certificates.
  4. Enter a Manager name. This could be your SEM's IP address. Not the hostname.
  5. Enter a user name. This can be an administrator.

Note: SolarWinds recommends that you create a service account user for your SEM reports application. To do this:

  1. Open the SEM web console.
  2. Navigate to Build > Users, and then click the Expand button in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select SEM User.
  4. Name the user reports and assign a password.
  5. At the bottom of the page, change Role to Reports .

Note: This allows you to always run scheduled reports if you change your admin password and forget to change it in the reports application.

If you want to use TLS:

  1. Follow the Steps 1 to 5 to create a report user account.
  2. Import SSL certificates.
  3. On the back end via the vSphere console, HyperV, or Putty, enable SSL certificates.
  4. Enter manager.
  5. Enter exportcert.
  6. Follow the prompts.
