Overview

The Tomcat Server template was updated in SAM 6.9 to include options that determine how SAM handles certificate errors during application monitoring.

Note: Most SAM templates are not updated automatically during upgrades to avoid overwriting custom changes made to existing templates. Update your existing Tomcat Server template, if necessary, as described below.

Server Application Monitor

Resolution

To configure how SAM handles certificate errors when polling Tomcat servers, edit the Tomcat Server template to set the following options:

  • Ignore CA Errors: Select this check box to specify that this component monitor will ignore Certificate Authority (CA) errors.
  • Ignore CN Errors: Select this check box to specify that this component monitor will ignore Certificate Name (CN) errors.

Note: With the exception of AppInsight templates, templates are not updated automatically during upgrades to avoid overwriting custom changes made to templates. If your SAM environment originated in SAM 6.8 or earlier, you'll need to import the updated Tomcat Server template from THWACK to begin using these options. Be sure to update any existing Tomcat Server application monitors already assigned to nodes, also.
