Configure Serv-U to use SFTP as the default file transfer protocol

Overview

This article describes how to configure Serv-U to only use the SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) as the default file transfer protocol. You can configure this setting at the domain level or in the user profile.

Resolution

Domain level

  1. Open Serv-U.
  2. Go to Domain > Domain Details.
  3. Select the Listeners tab.Domain Details
  4. Delete other listeners and leave SFTP only.
  5. Instruct the user to connect using SFTP only.

User profile 

  1. Open Serv-U.
  2. Go to Domain > Users.
  3. In the domain user, select the user and then click Edit.
  4. Go to Limit & Settings.
  5. Create a new limit.
    Under connection limit type, double-click Allow FTP and FTPS connection, and then click Yes.
  6. Uncheck the Allow FTP and FTPS connection checkbox, and then click Save.

    You will see two entries of the same limit type. Names highlighted in white indicate the active limit.
  7. Click Save.
