Configure Performance Counter monitor fetching method order for SAM

Performance Counters can be fetched by several methods, including WinRM, Managed (RPC), WMI, External (RPC), PDH (RPC). Through the Performance Counter monitor, you can set the primary or preferred fetching method. If that method fails, you can set the preferred order of fallback methods in the SolarWinds.APM.Probes.config file.

Overview

Starting in SAM 2020.2, WinRM is the default fetching method for WMI-based component monitors. As a result, the original article in this location became outdated.
