Configure ODBC Data Source/Connect Kiwi to SQL server

When Setting up the Log to Database Action, you will need to configure the ODBC connection to properly connect to the Database.  For newer database versions, use the latest ODBC connectors from Microsoft.

Kiwi Syslog Server

Note: This example configuration is done with Windows Server 2008.

1. Open the ODBC Data Source Administrator > go to the System DSN tab > click Add.

2. Select ODBC Driver for SQL Server > click Finish.

3. Provide the information such as name, description and the IP or hostname of the SQL server > click Next.
   • 
4. Provide the SQL server authentication details (SA account recommended) > click Next.

5. Provide the name of the database instance from your SQL, leave the other settings in default > click Next.

6. Change the language or enable logging for ODBC statistics (optional) > click Finish.

7. You can view the configuration summary and do tests to check if SQL server connection is available (click the Test Data Source button).

8. Click OK and it will show that the configuration is complete.

9. Configure Kiwi Syslog to connect to the SQL server.
