Configure Microsoft Azure for cloud infrastructure monitoring in SAM or VMAN

Before adding an Azure cloud account to the Orion Web Console, Azure must be configured to interact with the Orion Platform. An account requires sufficient Azure Active Directory (AD) and subscription permissions so you can add an AD app in the Azure Portal that allows the Orion Platform to retrieve status and metrics for VMs. Identity and Access Management (IAM) permissions must also be set up. Consult your system administrator, as necessary.

Overview

You can use SAM or VMAN to monitor AWS EC2 instances and Azure VMs directly in the Orion Web Console. This article provide information about adding an Azure cloud account and configuring it interact with the Orion Platform.

To interact with the Orion Platform, an Azure cloud account requires sufficient Azure Active Directory (AD) and subscription permissions so you can add an AD app in the Azure Portal that allows the Orion Platform to retrieve status and metrics for VMs. Identity and Access Management (IAM) permissions must also be set up. Consult your system administrator, as necessary.
