Configure SEM to use a static IP address

This page shows you how to configure Security Event Manager (SEM) to use a static IP address. Refer to these steps if you need to change a previously configured static IP address.

Overview

Follow these steps to configure Security Event Manager (formerly Log & Event Manager) to use a static IP address, or if you need to change a previously configured IP addresses.

Resolution

Access the CMC prompt:
- Virtual Console: Arrow down to Advanced Configuration, and then press Enter.
- SSH Client: Log in using your CMC credentials.
In the cmc> prompt, enter appliance. The prompt changes to cmc::acm#, indicating you are in the appliance configuration menu.
In the acm> prompt, enter netconfig.

Note: All the network configuration information must be available with you as you go through all the prompted steps.
