Overview

Kiwi Syslog not receiving messages. No Messages appear on the Kiwi Syslog Console. Test Syslog messages directly from the server works.

Resolution

As Kiwi Syslog Daemon does not actively poll your network devices, you need to configure each of these to send their syslog information to the IP address of the system that you have installed Kiwi Syslog Daemon on.

Information on how to configure many different network devices can be found in the Kiwi Syslog Daemon Help file or Configuring Syslog enabled devices (©2012 SolarWinds, available at http://www.solarwinds.com, obtained on Dec 14, 2018).

In order to make sure that all changes will apply upon configuration, a network device will require a reboot to force it to take the new settings.

If you have configured your device and Kiwi Syslog Daemon is installed but still unable to receive messages, then we recommend that you try the reboot option.
